Cherokee County Finance Director Position Opening
Cherokee County is now accepting applications for the position of Finance Director. The Finance Director will plan and direct, a number of professional, paraprofessional and clerical personnel involved in diverse finance-related responsibilities. This full-time position performs various accounting functions, including assisting with budget preparation and oversight of financial reporting, A/P, A/R, payroll, cash management, information technology, debt management, internal reviews of accounting controls and practices, coordination of annual audit and PSC reporting, customer service functions, and assisting with the annual budget as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or closely related field required, Master’s degree preferred; supplemented by five to seven (5 – 7) years of progressively responsible experience managing governmental accounting and finance programs; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must have General Ledger experience and payroll processing experience preferred. Certification as a Certified Government Finance Manager (CGFM) also preferred.
The minimum salary for this position is $57,805. Open until filled.
