Job Description:

Administrative Coordinator

Job Purpose: 

Performs mid-level duties in the creation and maintenance of accounting records; performs activities related to fiscal management and personnel management.  Performs a variety of complex administrative or business management activities for Legislative Services Agency (LSA).  

Job Tasks:  

  • Analyze transactions in specific accounts, including operating revenue.  Analyze and prepare various financial and fiscal reports.  
  • Coordinates LSA's wellness program to include updating the Compass banner through the Development Team.  Plans and executes employee events. 
  • Ensure accurate documentation of various financial transactions, to include the reconciliation of RR Donnelley print work billing, the subscriptions for various stages of the Appropriation Bill, and the legislative manual accounts and maintain and update database as needed.  Process and distribute the various printed legislative publications.
  • Ensure smooth running of the front office to include excellent customer service and prompt attention to all who enter and call.  Answer phone, provide information, and refer callers to appropriate staff; greet visitors/customers, answer questions related to the operations of the agency and make referrals to appropriate staff when needed; open, date stamp and distribute mail.
  • Responsible for paying all utility bills and printing invoices.  Serves as A/P back-up; assists with special projects.
  • Oversees input into the LSA leave system and ensures accuracy.
  • Assist with the annual processing of Legislative Manuals; coordinate and distribute legislative manuals to members and agencies; coordinate the sale of manuals to the public.

Must live in the Columbia, SC area; have strong communication skills and work effectively with people at all levels of LSA, House and Senate;  must work absent personal political views and embrace obscurity.

Requires the ability to organize work and meet deadlines and the ability to work well with a variety of people.  LSA is an at-will agency.  The chosen candidate for this position must pass a six month probationary period.

Bachelor's degree and 4 years experience in finance, business, or accounting; or an Associate's degree and 7 years of experience in finance, business, or accounting.  SCEIS experience preferred but not required.
