This position is responsible for responsible for professional accounting duties in the Accounts Payable Section involving technical, analytical and specialized financial skills. Reviews, analyzes and processes a variety of disbursement invoices that must be processed within five days from receipt. Requires interpretation of Agency rules and regulations, Dept of Administration and Comptroller General policies, State Procurement code policies and procedures and SCEIS and STARS requirements. Responsible for contacting program areas for proper funding, receipting of invoices, or with any problems as needed to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments. Assists internal and external customers in oral and written inquiries regarding status of payments. Assists program staff in interpreting and implementing procedural changes as required. Handles Comptroller General error calls, vendor and program area calls. Coordinates prompt and accurate payment of all incoming invoices and account problem resolution. Serves as the agency's exclusive contact and liaison with an assigned large vendor. Serves as primary or backup for these Accounts Payable duties, including: travel cash advances, daily vendor checks, daily AP mail, and vendor payment inquiries. And assists with other duties assigned and required by the Division Director and the Bureau’s Management staff.
