Description:
Under limited supervision, the Assistant Deputy Treasurer performs skilled and specialized duties by assisting in the accounting area of the Treasurer's Department.
The work involves cash handling; balancing cash drawers; preparing deposits; posting entries to the General Ledger; processing refund checks; processing payments received from lockbox, mortgage companies, the State, and the internet; codes and submits bills requested by mortgage companies; handles returned checks; compiles month end disbursement reports; disburses tax collections to school districts; and assists the public both over the phone and in person.
The Assistant Deputy Treasurer must exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment to ensure effectiveness of the tax program as well as courtesy in frequent contact with the general public, property owners and government officials.
This position will report to the Deputy Treasurer of Accounting Operations.
Minimum Education:
Associates Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
Minimum Qualification:
2-3 years of experience in tax assessment, appraisal or collections; any equivalent combination of training and experience.
