2017 Summer CPE Training Courses

Course Description:
This training will not be split into separate sessions, so participants must sign up for the whole day in order to receive the full 8 hour CPE course credit. This training will cover a variety of topics to include: Super Circular, External Auditor Requirements and Deliverables, Update on Topics in Higher Education and FSA Programs/Grants, Indirect Cost Plans and Circular. Please print out the CPE credit submission form for your records.
Course Speaker:
Mr. Steve Blake, CPA, CFE, CICA
Steve Blake came to South Carolina in May, 1983. He is an honor graduate of Southern College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He is a member of the Special Review Committee of the Government Finance Officers Association, for which he reviews comprehensive annual financial reports for the Certificate of Achievement Program. Steve has extensive experience with audits of state and local governmental entities, agencies of state and local governments, non-profit entities, colleges and universities, and federal and state grant programs. Steve is also a member of the Government Finance Officers Association of South Carolina and the South Carolina Association of CPA’s. Steve works with governmental and non-profit clients in providing attestation and training services. Besides being a CPA, Steve holds the following additional certifications: Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Internal Control Auditor and Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Course Description:
This training will be split into TWO separate sessions. Participants will receive 4 hours of CPE course credit for each four-hour session. The morning session will cover GFOA CAFR/PAFR tips and requirements. The afternoon session will cover Excel tips and tricks.
