Job Description:
South Island PSD is a public water and sewer utility serving the Southern end of Hilton Head Island, S.C. We are seeking an experienced accountant to serve as Finance Director. The Finance Director reports directly to the District’s General Manager and supervises the Accounting and Customer Service departments.
Candidates must have experience in all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, internal control implementation and maintenance, budget development, cash management, and personnel management. The candidate must be able to prepare annual financial statements, including MD&A, for audit in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Utility or local government financial experience is preferred.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, or a related field, and seven years’ experience in financial management and/or accounting is required. Possession of a Certified Public Accountant license and/or designation as a Certified Government Finance Officer is preferred. Position includes State Retirement System participation and excellent benefits package.
