GREENWOOD COUNTY, SC, a progressive community located in the upstate of South Carolina, is
currently recruiting for a highly qualified County Attorney to join their leadership team. 
The purpose of this position within the organization is to address the general legal needs of Greenwood
County.  The work involves planning and accomplishing the activities of the County Legal Department;
representing and advising County officials, agencies, and boards on legal issues; negotiating, writing
and/or reviewing contracts; researching and writing resolutions, ordinances and legal opinions.  The
position is appointed by The Greenwood County Council and reports to the Greenwood County Manager
for supervision after appointment consistent with South Carolina Code of Law Section 4-9-830.
Minimum Education and Experience:  A Juris Doctorate Degree is required for this position along with
five (5) years of progressively responsible legal experience which preferably includes work in the
government sector or experience that demonstrates competency in the work of serving as the County
Attorney.
