Job Description:
Budget Analyst (Budget Department): Under general supervision of the Budget Director, the purpose of this position is to assist the Budget Department with developing the County’s annual operating & capital budget as well as ensuring proper management of revenues. Monitors the administration of the annual budget and works with the Finance Department and affected departments to resolve budgetary issues. This includes forecasting and cross departmental communication regarding changes in the policies or trends that would affect the frequency or amounts of revenue collected. Monitors the administration of capital projects and works with CIP Coordinator to resolve any project issues.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate’s degree in Accounting or closely related field
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in governmental accounting
• CGFO or CPFO preferred
• Experience with accounting software Munis is preferred
• Excellent computer, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
OPEN UNTIL FILLED
SALARY: $20.80 - $21.64 hourly (DOQ)
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
