Job Responsibilities

  • You will serve as the Chief Financial Officer leading Finance, Facilities and Procurement.
  • You will direct the development of the department’s comprehensive budget by working with the Executive Director, Chief of Staff, Chief Legal Counsel, and others to ensure a sound fiscal position.
  • You will oversee GAAP financial reporting and all financial statements and A-133 (single) audit engagements for over $1 Billion in annual state and federal funds managed by DEW.
  • You will ensure that federal grants and state funding are aligned with the agency’s mission and strategic direction.
  • You will direct the implementation of adequate financial controls to assure compliance with federal, state, contractual, budgetary, accounting and audit guidelines.
  • You will oversee the agency’s accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel, and expense reimbursement processes and build policies and procedures that work effectively for our internal staff and vendors.

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration.
  • Five years of professional experience including three years of experience managing a financial system with both accounting and budgetary responsibilities OR three years directing a major organizational unit within a complex financial system.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to interpret complicated federal and state statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to direct the activities of others in the execution of complex financial, budgetary, and automated program systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of principles, concepts and practices of financial accounting and budgetary systems.
  • Ability to plan and implement a complex financial management system.
